Shinnhill Blaire of Marlen

Blaire came to us from Northern Ireland by way of Shinnhill Labradors. We imported her in the fall of 2025 as a six-month-old pup. Her genetic makeup was already very familiar to us, as Blaire is a full sister to our beloved Harper.

Blaire is, above all, a pleaser. Her priority is her people, and she has a natural ability to read a situation and look to her handler for direction. She is gentle by nature, attentive, and eager for approval, while still being a fun, lively dog with plenty of personality.

In the field, that same connection to her handler is one of Blaire’s greatest strengths. She carries a strong sense of loyalty and trust and is not easily rattled by adversity. Rather than becoming reactive, she maintains her composure, looks for direction, and trusts her handler to help her through the situation. That trust is especially evident when handling—when Blaire is given a cast, she commits to it with confidence and runs hard in the direction she has been sent.

Blaire had a later start to her formal retrieving training, and at just over a year old, there is still plenty ahead of her. We look forward to continuing to develop her retrieving and handling skills over the coming season. Even at this early stage, however, Blaire has already shown us the qualities we value most: a gentle temperament, composure, trust, loyalty, and a genuine desire to please.
